Overload protection is an essential tool for the production manager. An ever increasing number of companies appreciate its value to ensure the highest level of productivity. Production can take several forms, including simple shear pins, friction devices, electronic monitoring units and torque limiters which have proved to be the most reliable and effective forms of safeguard, giving instant protection and complete disengagement in the event of a jam.

With the 800 series module Autogard has extended torque limitation into the heavy duty sector of industry whilst retaining cost efficiency and reliability.

The Ultra Module offers a cost effective solution to overload protection where:-
•	Heavy torque demands and large shafts make conventional torque limiters expensive and impracticable.
•	Space limitations allow little more than the drive train components.

Ultra Modules provide:-
•	A versatile solution - The system is easily built into standard couplings, sprockets, gears, pulleys etc.
•	Quick and easy reset - Simply realign the modules with their seatings and tap the reset plungers with a soft hammer. A unique automatic reset option for slow speed applications is available.
•	Adjustable torque settings - Tripping torque can be easily adjusted to ensure optimal protection of the machinery without removing the modules.
•	Consistent release torques - The set torque will not change once the Ultra Module has been set. Modules are not subject to fatigue as are shear pins, or the torque variations inherent in friction clutches.
•	Manual disengaging facility - Non automatic reset modules may be manually disengaged by clockwise rotation of the hexagonal headed disengaging sleeve A/F2 ~ ref.table opposite.
•	Limit switch operation - Disengagement of both radial and axial designs can be detected by a limit switch. Axially mounted modules have the option to incorporate a limit switch operating plate.
•	Easy relubrication - Each module is fitted with a grease nipple to facilitate lubrication of the torque transmission components within the unit.
