Autogard Series 600 Torque Limiter

Series 600 Airjustor Torque Limiter Selection

Method

Data required for Torque Limiter Selection:-
Horsepower / Kilowatts and rpm of the drive
Shaft details of the driving and driven equipment

(1) Calculate the maximum Torque as follows:-
  Torque (Nm) = kW x 9550 / rpm
  or
  Torque (in-lbs) = H.P. x 63025 / rpm
  Consideration should be given to starting torque particularly if the Airjustor is positioned close to the motor. This may be up to three times the normal running torque, and can be accommodated by the "in-motion" control facility (refer to Autogard).

From the table bellow chose the size of unit for the torque calculated. Ensure that the torque range is sufficient to meet expected adjustments, and that the bore capacity is adequate. Finally, check the overall model dimensions (refer to Autogard catalogue600/6/89).

All Series 400 units may be supplied from the factory at a pre-set torque, or with springs for the full or partial torque range specified. The accuracy of the Autogard Series 400 will ensure that disengagement will only take place when the pre-set torque is exceeded.

Check minimum sprocket / pulley dimensions given for applicable models.
